Arc Lake Outpost Camp - Sioux Lookout - Northern Ontario

Located 62 miles Northeast of Sioux Lookout, Arc Lake is part of the Minniss River System. It teems with both Walleye and Northern Pike, catching 50 fish per day is common. Our northern Ontario fishing camp is well equipped for all your needs. As in all our fishing and hunting camps we have 14 ft. and 16 ft. boats with 10 horsepower Mercury motors which are new every year.

Outpost Cabin on Taper Lake Taper Lake is located 62 miles northeast of Sioux Lookout and like Arc Lake is part of the Miniss River System.

Fishing in Taper Lake Northwestern Ontario

Our cabin is well equipped to sleep up to 8 people. Boats, motors and gas are ready to take your group on a day of fishing that will test skills, and make exhilarating fishing stories to take home.

The outpost cabin has a gas generator for electricity along with a propane stove and refrigerator. All cooking utensils are supplied. You bring food, sleeping bags, personal gear and lots of fishing tackle.

It is not uncommon to catch walleye up to 9 lbs. and Northern Pike is in the 20 lb plus class.

Fishing in Root Bay of Lake St. Joseph - a notable lake in the northwest region of Ontario.

Please Note: When fishing Lake St. Joseph you are required to use barbless hooks.

Root Bay Outpost Camp Our Camp is located in Root Bay which lies on the Southwest end of Lake St. Joseph. Located 62 air miles North of Sioux Lookout, there are 3 outpost cabins at this site, the cabins are well equipped for groups of 4, 6, or 8 people. This outpost fishing site is a perfect for large groups that would like to book the whole camp. Lake St. Joseph is the best producer of quality fish, the average size walleye is 19 to 21 inches. A person should be able to catch 15 to 20 - 24 inch plus walleye daily. A non-resident can fish Lake St. Joseph only if they go through an outfitter, the non-resident has to buy a St Joseph sticker for his/her licence.

Treat the family - take them all fishing in Ontario!!! St. Joseph has become legend for both large Walleye and Lunker Northern Pike. The lake is 95 miles long and it is very unlikely you'll see anybody else. The lake may be big, but it is not required to drive 95 miles to go fishing. One of the best spots on the whole lake is 1/2 mile from the dock at the Root Bay outlet which flows into root river. Since the introduction of reduced limits and 1 trophy fish, the fish have been getting bigger on all of the lakes. Walleye average 3-6 lbs occasional 8-12 lbs and plenty of 10-15 lbs occasionally 20-25 lbs. The biggest walleye caught this year was 12.5 lbs and biggest northern 47 inch - 27 lbs.

Give your grandchildren the experience of a life time - take them fishing in Sioux Lookout, Ontario!!! An abundance of 4 to 5 pound Walleye are common as well as 15 to 20 pound Northern Pike. Try any of our outpost sites for some excellent fishing - our biggest laker was 21 pound (Carling Outpost has lakers as does the main resort), biggest small mouth 22.75 inches, biggest Muskie was only 49 inches. We don't have a lot of Muskie fishermen, but we do have guides that know Lac Seul and the Vermillion Lakes well, which are becoming a widely known area for Muskies. The biggest Muskie this year was a 58 incher, caught by a first time muskie hunter.

How to get to Sioux Lookout in Northwestern, Ontario Travel by car over fully paved highways to Sioux Lookout, Ontario. Wheeled Aircraft owners can fly to the airport at Sioux Lookout. Patricia Fly-in will meet the party and transfer you to our float-equipped aircraft. Fly by scheduled jet airlines via Winnipeg, Manitoba to Dryden, Ontario where we will meet you in our wheel-equipped aircraft and fly to Sioux Lookout. From here our well-maintained float-equipped aircraft will take you to the outpost camp of your choice to begin your northwestern holiday adventure.

Ontario, one of the most densely inhabited cities of Canada is situated on the east central part of Canada. It has a total population of over 12449502 and covers an area of 1076359 sq. km. Toronto is the capital city of Ontario and Ottawa the capital city of Canada is situated in Ontario too. As the name signifies the word Ontario means beautiful lake or beautiful aqua. Therefore, it is quite understandable that the natural scenario of the place would be equally stunning and unusually beautiful. Now let us discuss in short about the geographical boundaries of Ontario. On the North Ontario is enclosed by Hudson Bay and James Bay, on the East by Quebec, on the West by Manitoba and on the South by American states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York.
